The War of the Stones

The War of the Stones began as a quick bid for power by Beedred the Forsaken, a necromancer of considerable power. Beedred was the second in command for King Alzer Bronzetongue, the leader of the city state of Cathea. He and his followers made an attempt to assassinate King Alzer Bronzetongue in his own castle. Although successful, Beedred lost a large amount of his followers. In order to rebuild his power, Beedred slaughtered all of the citizens of Cathea, using their dead bodies to rebuild his army of the undead. With the large amount of bodies at his hands he was able experiment and created two new monstrosities never before seen in the world; Abominations and Body Bearers.

Scarcely four months after the assassination of Alzer Bronzetongue and the slaughter in the streets of Cathea, Beedred’s armies were rebuilt and nearly three times as mighty as it had been before. In an insatiable quest for power he led this army in a march towards the city-state of Wisington, laying siege to the city. As word reached the five other city-states of Beedred, his army, and the threat it imposed onto all of them. The five kings reached an agreement and formed The Confederation in a united attempt to crush Beedred and his army. The Alliance realized that even together, their power may not be enough to defeat Beedred and formed an elite band of six of the greatest heroes of the land. Their task, to penetrate deep into enemy lines and assassinate Beedred. After they killed Beedred, the armies could come through and kill the armies of the undead with relative ease as they would be disorganized. However, not everything went according to plan.

The team departed together, but noone returned. The kings and their armies watched as the armies of Beedred retreated, fleeing back away from the city, spreading out in a seemingly chaotic pattern. The Confederate army defeated the Abominations and Cadavar Carriers with relative ease but the bulk escaped, fleeing across the Rhoder River. Upon arrival back to the camp after the time spent hunting the fleeing armies the kings found Grinjurr Fralicson a powerful necromancer and one of the elite band sent out. He detailed how when they penetrated through Beedred was much more powerful then any of them expected. Beedred managed to kill the rest of the party but the mission was still succeed as Grinjurr managed to kill Beedred while he was fighting the other party members. None of the bodies of any of the band were found, neither was the body of Beedred. The five members of the elite band that died became known as The Fallen while Grinjurr became a hero in all of the city-states.
